We have two wonderful stories from two awesome DocTours volunteers who recently returned from Timor Leste and Nepal. The common themes we hear from past volunteers include: having the most amazing experience, learning a great deal (both personally and professionally) and a desire to do it again. Volunteering in Timor Leste
Sydney-based GP, Dr Maria has just returned from her volunteering stint and writes: “I had been thinking about volunteering in Timor Leste for more than a year and had been doing some up-skilling to prepare for it. Then I saw an article in the DocTours Newsletter regrading new placements, which included Timor Leste and that was the final catalyst: I decided to do it. As a bonus, even my father, now in his 70’s but in good health, decided to go with me as a handyman volunteer, as it had been on his bucket list for years!
